HISENSE HISTORY

In September 1969, Qingdao No.2 Radio Factory, the predecessor of Hisense Group, was established.

February 1979, it was renamed Qingdao Television Factory and selected as the appointed television manufacturer by the government, and Hisense officially started to manufacture televisions.

In 1984, it successfully introduced worldclass color TV enterprise winning national honors for its high quality products for consecutive years.

In 1995, Hisense Technology Center was identified as China National-Level Enterprise Technology Center by the five National Ministries and Commissions.

In 1996, Hisense Air-Conditioning Co., Ltd was established and it launched the first variable frequency air conditioner in China; South Africa Hisense was also established starting a significant step for its international development.

In 1997, Hisense Electric Co., Ltd was successfully listed on the stock exchange.

In 1998, Hisense Software Co., Ltd, the predecessor of Hisense TransTech Co., Ltd, was established.

In 2002, Hisense Photovoltaic Technology Co., Ltd, the predecessor of Hisense Broadband Multimedia Co., Ltd, was established; Hisense Refrigerator Co., Ltd was established; Hisense cooperated with Hitachi to produce commercial air conditioners.

In 2006, Hisense acquired Guangdong Kelon Electrical Holding Co., Ltd and its industrial module of household appliance was strengthened.

In 2007, the first LCD module production line in China started volume production; Hisense was among the first group of national key laboratories.

In 2008, Hisense was listed as "Ten Stateowned Company Model by the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee.

In 2012, Hisense established Jiangmen Industrial Park, Shenzhen Hisense South Management Headquarters and Qingdao R&D Center, and expanded Pingdu Industrial Park.

Hisense home appliances industrial factory in South Africa was officially put into use. Hisense launched the first simple-operating smart VIDAA TV. Hisense formed a complete management system of honesty and integrity featuring Hisense Honesty Conduct.

Hisense released world’s first Laser Cast and ULED TV in 2014. And in the same year, the Hisense R&D center in Qingdao was put into use.

Hisense acquired Sharp’s TV factory in Mexico and took over its American TV business in 2015. Hisense launched China's first self-developed picture quality engine processing chip.

Hisense became the official partner of UEFA EURO 2016™.

In 2017, Hisense became official sponsor of the 2018 FIFA World Cup and acquired Toshiba Visual Solutions Corporation (“TVS”).

Hisense sponsored of the 2018 FIFA World Cup. That same year, Hisense acquired Gorenje, a leading European appliance brand.

In 2019, Hisense released the world's first dull-cell panel TV and greeted the 50th anniversary of the enterprise.

In 2020, Hisense became the official partner of EUFA EURO 2020™.
